Local Heroes Program
The Sandler Center Foundation’s Local Heroes Program recognizes those who run toward danger in protection of us all, First Responders and the Military, as well as Gold Star Families, who have sacrificed so much on our behalf. The Foundation’s goal is to provide Sandler Center Resident Company performance tickets for Local Heroes and their families to enjoy a show.
Local Heroes is a program designed and funded by the Sandler Center Foundation. Since its inception in 2015, we have provided attendance funding to over 1,000 Local Heroes and their families who may not otherwise have had the opportunity to attend a performance at the Sandler Center.
The 2019-20 Local Heroes Program is Open!
If you are a first responder (EMT, fire, police) or a military service member, we thank you for your service and encourage you to apply to receive up to 4 tickets for you and your family to attend a performance by one of our Resident Companies at the Sandler Center.
Please see below for the 2019-20 performances available to Local Heroes as well as the application. For more information about the specific performances, please visit the Sandler Center’s calendar of events.
Please keep in mind that funding and availability is limited, and that your request is not a guarantee.
What some of our Local Heroes have said about their experience with the program:
“We had a wonderful evening! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The show was great and brought back some fun memories. I can’t thank you all enough!”
“We were able to attend the ballet, and we all loved it! My 9 year-old daughter even made it through the show, which was great to see. Thank you so much for enriching her learning and our lives by providing a means by which we were able to attend the show. May God bless you for all of your kindness.”
“We loved the concert!! Never heard a counter tenor before. Wow, that young man can sing!!!! Best performance of Tchaikovsky No. 5 we’ve ever heard!! Thank you so much for the great seats!!”
