The Sandler Center Foundation works to sustain world-class programming and vital educational opportunities for the citizens and visitors of Hampton Roads. The Virginia Arts Festival and Sandler Center Foundation are bringing soprano Renée Fleming back to Hampton Roads on February 23, 2019. The four-time Grammy winner and musical statesman was the first classical artist to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Super Bowl, and has sung at the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, at the televised concert at the Brandenburg Gate to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 2014, from the balcony of Buckingham Palace in the Diamond Jubilee Concert for Queen Elizabeth II in 2012, and at the funeral of Sen. John McCain.

The annual Town Center Concert Series takes place on the Sandler Center Outdoor Plaza every Wednesday from June – August. During the weekly series, visitors enjoy music ranging from rock to blues to Motown. *Proceeds from the series benefit the Sandler Center Foundation.
