Make An Impact This Giving Tuesday

SCF - Make an impact this Giving Tuesday

This Giving Tuesday (Tuesday, November 28), you are going to hear from a number of nonprofit organizations and corporations working to become better social citizens. They will say things that are going to compete for your dollars, and more importantly – your heart. I know and understand – I got emotional today watching a moving commercial put out by a grocery store.

There are some nonprofits, and even corporations, out there doing exceptional work. Don’t discount them.

Please remember though –nonprofits are the quiet and often unrecognized backbone of your community. They teach your children when school budgets are short, they look after your parents as they age, they help those who protect our country when they come home with emotional wounds, they watch over those animals who are neglected, and so much more.

They don’t have multi-million dollar marketing campaigns to support their efforts. Often times, it’s a small group of very dedicated people wanting to make a difference – regardless of the odds. They will work themselves to the bone, because they are passionate about something. My plea to you this coming Giving Tuesday is to give with your heart and remember the things that bring you joy.

Sandler Center Foundation - Make an impact this Giving Tuesday

My organization, the Sandler Center Foundation, is embarking on a new path forward to use the arts to address the needs of your (OUR) community.

If you should decide to give to us this Giving Tuesday, then visit our website to learn more about us, what we do, and the impact of our work. I can promise you that 100% of your donation will go to those efforts. Those wonderful volunteers and Board members make their own financial commitment, so that every dollar you give goes to making a difference in our community.

For those tax savvy individuals out there – we are a Virginia Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) designated organization. This means Virginia Department of Education recognizes us for our financial management, organization, and impact on our community. So much so,they will award you up to a 65% tax credit for helping to support us. Click HERE to learn more.

No matter how you give, please give with your heart. You have the choice as to how you can make an impact.

Myth #1 Philanthropy Is Only For The Rich
By Lisa Baehre February 5, 2024
Although philanthropy is commonly associated with the rich (names like Scott, Rockefeller, or Buffet come to mind), one of the greatest acts of philanthropy I’ve seen in my career was made by a server at a diner and a group of young women - ages 16 and 17.
